Daft Punk x TRON: Madness →
Um, holy shitballs. Daft Punk’s TRON score is shaping up to be absolutely epic. Well, everything about this film is starting to look pretty out of this world.
Just listen to some of these samples…
I’ll concede that some of it sounds just like what it is, movie score. But this is one thick-as-hell movie score.

Samples of Arcade Fire’s new 12”.
Great fun. Simple. Digital. Execution.
And, of course, an album crazily anticipated.
Yours to Keep
MP3 :: Yours to Keep - Teddybears STHLM feat. Paola
I’ve had a crush on the song “Yours to Keep” since the first time I heard it, in the soundtrack to the snowboard film Afterlame. (That soundtrack, BTW, was full of hits, check out a few more below.) For a song released in 2000(!), it still sounds fresh and contemporary and really fits in nicely with a lot of the new,...
Mark Ronson – “Circuit Breaker” Video
Hu. This isn’t really want I was expecting from Mark Ronson, but I’m happily surprised. Pretty stoked now to hear the rest of the new recored, titled Record Collection:
Via Stereogum. Props to them on their “Link” pun. Or was it a play on words?
And the always appropriate follow-up to anything gaming related:

LCD Soundsystem’s Drunk Girls music video (DIR: Spike Jonze and James Murphy)
It’s been a hard week. This was the levity I needed today.

On not blogging...
I started a new job. It’s way more demanding and I’m trying to kick-ass. As a result, blogging has clearly slowed. Sorry. Trying my best.

Drunk Girls, remixed
Here’s a pretty sweet remix of LCD Soundsystem’s Drunk Girls done by Holy Ghost!
Via Bikiniisland:
The Brooklyn natives and label mates turn the song into a smooth 7 and a half minute long electro jam. The remix will be released with the single and is scheduled to come out (in both 7” and 12” formats) on the same day as the album, May 17th.

Beach House @ Soho, Santa Barbara, CA
For the first time in a long time I’m incredibly excited to see a band. Expecting something totally stellar.
Tonight
Ruby Suns and Toro Y Moi.
So excellent.
Beach House B-Side
Beach House - The Arrangement
Non-LP song presumably from the Teen Dream sessions. Probably not as strong as most other album cuts, but new and still pretty tasty.
Can’t wait to see them play Friday up in Santa Barbara. Yes.
Beach House - The Arrangementbysubpop
Best Coast - When I’m With You
Talk about a feel-good song.
:)

Killer new (sorta NSFW) video for L.A. rockers (Smell alumni) HEALTH directed by “The Great” Eric Wareheim.
Interestingly, in many ways, this video breaks from the established Wareheimean conventions, notably: neon, men dressed as women, sexuality as a weapon of unease/disgust, lo-fi cg work and crazy-silly humor.
Not that there isn’t anything funny about this video, there...
Follow-up on the Standing Cat
Just a bit of follow-up on the standing cat video.
While the kitty is obviously the star of the show, you cannot discount the music here, which has taken a good kitty-vid and made it great. The track’s total pop effervescence lends a degree of fantasy and overall silly that really compliments our furry friend’s striking posture.
Music is courtesy of Yoko Kanno, a Japanese composer...
UPDATE:
Video’s gone on Vimeo and I can’t update the reblogg, so here’s the video on YouTube:

Spike Jonez, Arcade Fire, panty soup.
Worked pretty well the first time.
Epically stoked.
New Blur! →
Pitchfork’s reporting a new Blur song to be released on 7” for Record Store Day.
Too bad it’s limited to only 1,000 copies. Too bad said copies are only for sale in the UK. Really too bad this 7” is the only media the song’ll be released on. But I’d expect a pirate MP3 version floating around soon after.
And, heeeeerrrrressss’s Tender!

A kinda scary music video
The Sandwitches - Kiss Your Feet from joeyizzo on Vimeo.
The dude over at Get Off The Coast says this is the, “best music video I’ve seen in years.” I think it’s pretty great as well, but I also think it’s kinda scary. Definitely felt a bit uncomfortable watching it.
It actually kinda reminded me of this video, which, as a kid, always made me uneasy and sorta...
Oh my god, LOST, I’m speechless…
New Single from Stars
MP3 :: Stars - Fixed
Wasn’t a huge fan of In Our Bedroom After The War, but still looking forward to the new Stars stuff. If this new single is any indication of what else is coming, I should be pretty stoked.
From Stereogum:
Stars’ fifth album The Five Ghosts, their first since 2007’s In Our Bedroom After The War, is out the end of June on their new Soft Revolution imprint. (DIY.)...
I can’t really get enough of Sleep Whale this week. Their debut full-length came out last fall and, “is a touching, heartfelt album that plays on every sense of joy and nostalgia it possibly can.”
The band, out of Denton, Texas can be found on Wester Vinyl.

The Notorious XX
San Francisco DJ Wait What released his Notorious B.I.G. vs. the xx mashtape this past week. Overall it’s pretty awesome. Sure, some tracks work better than others, but definitely more winners than not.
While the music sounds a bit slow for what we normally expect from rap, the quiet of the xx really highlights Biggie’s rhymes and flow.
Apparnently the mashup of Juicy and VCR, was...

Diesel: Music video/retail catalog mash-up →
Here’s a pretty cool interactive piece for Diesel’s Summer 2010 collection.
It’s basically a music video interlaced with an interactive look-book.
The song’s definitely not bad, provided by a seemingly unknown, Josep.
Great idea from a clothing brand that always keeps things fresh.
